Holiday Charity
I recently attended an amazing event hosted by a fellow blogger, Liz of @indigoheightsblog, and wore this cheerful outfit to her event. The event I was going to was to help provide needed goods to woman who have experienced domestic violence through a non-profit called @fillapurse. All donations were being given to the Urban Resource Institute which helps shelter woman in these circumstances. The idea was to donate gently used bags, fill them with things woman need such as, deodorant, sanitary items, shampoo, etc. The event was filled with lots of bloggers from around the New York area and we ended up donating over 60 purses!
It is always a good feeling when you get the opportunity to attend something and give back to the ones who really need it this holiday season. It's easy to get caught up in our own daily lives and become selfish. A little bit really does go a long way and I truly hope these woman are so thrilled when they receive their goodies. I have witnessed domestic violence and seen what it does to people. It is not easy to just leave and the amount of strength it takes to change your life around is a lot! I truly feel honored to have helped out in some way and encourage everyone reading this to find some charity that means something to you and help. It means more than you think.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
ASHLEE ROSE
